Apple Flavored Drinks

Another Fall flavor is apple. Apple can come in all different forms like spiced or sour. I'm not a fan of when they turn apple sour. It can be such an amazing savory flavor and taking it sour just seems to be an easy way out.

Drinks You Can Pick Up At The Store

Green Apple Jalapeño Soda (Rocket Fizz)

After trying the watermelon flavored Rocket Fizz drink I was a little afraid to give this one a try considering how weird the flavor was in general. It was actually not bad. It did not burn like I expect, but there was a hit of the jalapeño flavor. The apple was really weak, but at least it wasn't a sour approach to apple. I don't think I would actively buy it again, but if I was at a friend's house and they had it I would drink it. I got this Soda at the Rocket Fizz in Aurora, Co.

Apple Apple water (Clear American)

This is an example of the manufacture not going sour, but going more savory. This flavored water did have a slight bitter aftertaste, but I think that came from either an artificial sweetener or preservative that they choose to use. I wouldn't actively pick out this water, but if this was one of the only flavors left on the shelves I would be willing to drink it. Walmart carries these and I think this is their store brand water.

Toxic Waste Sour Soda Green Apple

It was not as sour as I was expecting. I was expecting War Head level, but only got a little pucker. It did take me a while to drink it though. The actual apple flavor was bearly there and there was some other weird flavor. I tried it once and would not again. This was a Rocket Fizz find.

Pororo Apple Flavor Drink

This one was interesting because it had a green apple taste that was mostly void of the sour aspect that it is normally paired with. This would actually be a good drink for kids who I think it is meant for and adults that do not like sour tastes. This drink was found at Hmart in Aurora, CO.

Caramel Apple Dream Herbal Tea by Celestial Seasonings

More of a spiced tea then anything else. The apple flavor is so weak that you will question if it is really there. You could have called this a chi spice tea and left it at that. There was also nothing that gave it a caramel like flavor either. It would have been cool if they would have made this taste more like an apple cider, but they really dropped the ball on this tea.

Frostie Green Apple Soda

A soda with a nice mellow apple flavor. Not sour in the least. I found this one at Rocket Fizz and it is one of the better sodas that I have tried from there. I would recommend this one to anyone who wants a fresh clean apple taste. Even though the bottle is holiday themed it would be good in the summer as well.

Smirnoff Green Apple

The sourness of this one builds as you drink it, but at the same time it never became overpowering. I tried this straight so I could experience just the flavor. I would see this as being good mixed with a more neutral mixer like club soda or Sprite. I would buy this again. You can find this at most liquor stores.

Drinks At Restaurants

Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato (Starbucks)

More then a little weird because it tasted exactly like apple oatmill that someone had put into a blender. It was oddly good, but I'm not sure if I would order it again.

Dazbog Green Burst

The description for this drink is: "Energize your day with botanical blend of delicious Granny Smith apple pulp scent, and tart-sweet green apple flavor." Basically this drink is just a classic sour apple flavor that they "caffeinated". For the one I had the first couple of sips were super sour and then the flavor was nearly gone. The flavor does not mix well and they did not add enough of the flavoring. To me it just seemed like an Italian Soda. I got this in October once other coffee shops already had their full fall drink menus out.

Dazbog Karamel Apple Butter

Dazbog got a very late start to their fall drink menu and even with that they are not official drinks, but just some they made up and wrote on a board. I was finally able to get a fall themed drink on November 10th. The board said that this drink had white chocolate and apple syrup in it. It did kind of taste like a caramel apple. Would I buy it again?... maybe... do they still have other things on the menu....

Thirstea Tiger Green Apple Boba Shake

This was about average quality for a boba drink. I had been expecting it to be sour, but it wasn't. The flavor was very mellow. The problem though is that a small, bearly there, drink at this place is the same price as full size drinks at other similar drink places. For quality vs size it just wasn't worth it and I won't be going back until they at least try to make their prices competive and more worthwhile for customers.

Green Apple Honey Green Tea with Ajyu Jelly (ShareTea)

I liked that even when I ordered it without sugar that it wasn't super sour like I was expecting. It had a nice mellow apple flavor and I would get it again. Tried June 2023.

Ciders

Ciders are in their own section because even though you can by them at the store, they rely on actual apple juice for their taste instead of using artificial apple flavoring. 

Big B's Fabulous Organic Spiced Apple Cider

I'm not sure if fabulous should should be used in this products name. It's about average at best. It mostly tasted like apple juice with a little cinnamon in it. There was no depth to the spices used. Found at Walmart.

Pumpkin Spice Apple Cider (Riveridge)

As you can see from the picture being of an empty container, this cider did not last long. Even though it was good and spicy, there was really no pumpkin flavor. It was as if they just put in the spices associated with pumpkin pie. This was actually a picture of our second jug for the season. I will buy this again, but I know to not expect pumpkin. Also a Walmart find.

Spiced Apple Cider Original (Alpine)

For a drink that you just add hot water to this is pretty good, but don't follow the directions on the box. If you use the recommended water to mix ratio it comes out too weak. For your average coffee tumbler I would recommend using 2 packages of mix. If you do this it is really good. I buy this when I can find it which is hard to do. I have seen it in Walmart and King Soopers.
