Holiday Alcohol Finds December 2022- January 2023
I will admit that during the holidays my alcohol intake goes up a bit. Here are some of the ones I got to try during this holiday season.
Pinetti Notte Rose Italy 2020
The bottle describes it as "A tribute to modern Italian style and its chic sophistication, Pinetti Notte celebrates la dolce vita with a wine sure to pique your palate. This wine embraces time honored traditional winemaking and a refined flair for style. Relish in a Pinetti evening of casual elegance; sipping wine, laughing, and enjoying close friends and family in the Italian way. Fragrant and bountiful, this Rose carries the essence of sweet strawberries while flavors of tart rhubarb gently unfold and linger on the palate."
I really didn't get any of the flavors that the wine said it invoked. It was only slightly dry, not over powering, and would have paired well with fruit desserts. We made the mistake of pairing it with a mint roll cake and I had to take a break drinking it until I was finished with the cake. We found this wine for only $5.99 at King Soopers. For that price it was an ok wine and I would be willing to try it again.
Applebee's Bahama Mama
For a $5 drink on their happy hour menu, they did have a heavy had on the pour. It was really good and went well with their chicken teriyaki tacos. At the same time it did not really stand out. I think instead of getting it again, I would want to try something else on their menu.
Bay Bridge Strawberry Moscato
"Is deliciously sweet, full of flavor, and smooth in taste," according to the description on the bottle. A good dessert wine that was only $3.99 at King Soopers. I didn't really get the strawberry flavor, but it was still a smooth sweet wine. This we used as our midnight wine for New Year's Eve.Crown Royal and Pepsi
When I was at the horrible event at the Hilton hotel on December 10th, I used my one drink ticket to try and get a Crown and Coke, but they didn't have coke and I had to settle for Pepsi. It was ok... at least the bar tender was a heavy hand on the pour. The mix of Crown Royal and soda in general is a standard mix and is a simple go to drink that is hard to mess up for the most part.Top Picture From: https://restaurantclicks.com/best-holiday-cocktails/
