Gingerbread Flavored Drinks

One of my favorite holiday flavors is gingerbread. The problem with gingerbread is that it can start tasting like black licorice. Here are some gingerbread drinks I have found.

Gingerbread Cocoa

This was a k-cup that had been part of a gift set I got from Walmart and was Walmart brand. There was a little bit of a spice flavor to it, but not really gingerbread. Tried December 2023.

Honey Gingerbread Milk Tea (Kung Fu Tea)

The drink I went with is missing its name, but it was the middle one.

Kind of a disappointment. The honey overpowered the gingerbread flavor. The gingerbread would have to have been doubled to be the star of the show. The drink tasted good, but if you are wanting gingerbread flavoring, this is not the drink for you.

Gingerbread Chi (Kataluma Chi)

For this chi drink they use their vanilla based chi. I didn't order it with any modifications. I should have. Their vanilla chi has a very powerful vanilla flavor and it easily overpowered the gingerbread flavor. It would have needed at least 4 extra pumps of gingerbread to have the flavor come out. Normally their ratios of flavors work out, but on this drink it did not. It was a good vanilla chi, but that wasn't what I was wanting at that time. Tried December 2023.

Gingerbread Oatmilk Chi (Starbucks)

This version of Starbucks' gingerbread chi (hot) I super modified and it came out great. I asked for 3 extra pumps which brought the total for the drink to 9 pumps. I also asked for almond milk and the nuttiness helped bring out the gingerbread. So overall, it is possible to get a good drink at a Starbucks, but you need to modify their recipes to get it. Tried December 2023.  

Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chi (Starbucks)

Oat milk has a very distinctive taste and it can overpower other flavors like it did with just ordering this drink standard. I ordered this drink a few days later and asked for the normal 8 pumps of the syrup for the large size and it was fine. It really does normally take 8 pumps of any syrup to have the flavor really shine in Star Bucks drinks. I would say it was ok, but it didn't wow me. I would order it again in the modified version (8 pumps). Tried November 2023. 

Gingerbread Latte (Black Rock Coffee Bar)

This was my first time trying Black Rock Coffee. I just did it straight and didn't ask for any modifications. The gingerbread flavor was super weak. They could have doubled the amount of flavoring they had in it. Also when I got to the bottom of the cup there were little pieces of soft/mushy pieces which I think had been some type of gingerbread cookie topping before they got liquid logged. If I were to go back again I think I would try one of their other holiday drinks or ask them to double the flavoring. They did also have a holiday energy drink that looked interesting. Tried November 2023.

Gingerbread Make It Yourself (Dazbog)

This was a make it myself drink since the Dazbog I went to didn't have any seasonal drinks at all, more then a bit weird since it is on a college campus. I took their mocha frappe and added 9 pumps of gingerbread. It tasted like chocolate gingerbread. I highly recommend this combination if you are looking for a touch of holiday somewhere that has lost their holiday spirit. Tried November 2023.
