Fall Foods 2024
Every time the seasons change companies roll out new products, foods, and flavors. The 2024 Halloween season is no different and below are some of the products we've tried this year. As new products are found we will keep adding them.
Fall Foods
Pumpkin Spice Frosted Flakes
Of the cereals I tried this fall this was the best one and I was only able to get one box of it. I went looking at many different stores for it, but they either hadn't gotten it in or they were sold out. It was extra good if you just gave the milk a few minutes to soften up the cereal. I would highly recommend this one, but good luck finding it.
This cereal was so gritty and bland. It was not a good mouth experience. Where I had trouble finding the Frosted Flakes, this cereal I could find a lot of because of people not buying it. Avoid getting this cereal unless you like eating sand with cardboard in it.
Paris Baguette's Fall Offerings
Pumpkin King Cream Donut: If you look at last year's fall post you will see this same donut, but minus the nuts. There was a little more pumpkin flavor this year, but the missing nuts made the texture feel really one noted. I've tried this donut twice now and I think I'm giving up on it. Pumpkin Danish: The pumpkin in this one was perfect and there was no question what the flavor was. I just wish that there would have been more of the pumpkin on the Danish, and when you want that you know they are doing it right. This one was very good and I would get it again.
Whole Foods Fancy Chocolate Cupcake
The overall product was dry and bland. I normally wouldn't go for such a basic flavored cupcake, don't like wasting that many calories on boring, but what caught my eye was the decorations. This is one of the most beautiful cupcakes I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of cupcakes. I was hoping that if they could make something so pretty, then maybe they could make a good basic cupcake, but no... I remember that back in the day the goods in the Whole Foods bakery used to be good, but then after a few years of not shopping there and going back the quality has slipped. Sorry about all of the pictures of this one, but it was just so pretty that I just kept taking them. Even though it is just different tips used to frost it, the layout was great and whoever they had doing them should get a pay increase...at least the person who decorated them, not the person that did the baking.
Great Value Pumpkin Butter
I could not tell the difference between this and an apple butter. There was nothing that made it pumpkin like. It was ok, but disappointing on the pumpkin side. If you are looking for a cheap apple butter for something this will work, but don't expect pumpkin. This was found at Walmart and is their store brand.
This was actually very good and had a clear apple taste. I ate it on crackers, but I think it would also be good on top of cream cheese as a spread/dip for a charcuterie board. I could also see this as being a good ham topper before you bake it.
The yogurt base was bitter. Then they give you so little toppings that they are basically useless. The yogurt was also flavorless for the most part and could have used the pumpkin flavor super dialed up. Wouldn't recommend. You can find these at most grocery stores, mine I got at King Soopers.
Arby's Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler
This sandwich was way better then I was expecting and I kind of wish that it was on their menu all year long. I would totally recommend this sandwich.
One of the better fall themed treats I've tried this year. I would stop in to just grab one of these if I was in a hurry. To bad they aren't open for breakfast, because this would be yummy for a quick grab and go. Highly recommend.
Dunkin' Turkey Donut
This was for the most part just a regular donut with chocolate frosting and then a donut hole on top. Mine was so sad with one of its eyes off. At least it could look at itself. I probably wouldn't order it again since there was no special flavor and it was boring.
Cracker Barrel Country Fried Turkey
This was one of the better meals I have had at Cracker Barrel. The thing that made the meal though was the turkey gravy. It was one of the beast gravies I have ever tried. Super flavorful. We even ordered an extra side to dunk our bread in. I wish they would come up with a breakfast item that uses this gravy, like just even a biscuits and gravy platter would be amazing.
This was a very good tea. I wish more places would remember that plum is a fall/holiday flavor and do more with it. I would get this again and it was nearly as good as their apple tea.
Cracker Barrel Chocolate Pecan Pie
This is one of the better pecan pies that I have had in a long time. I will say, make sure to eat it at room temp or warmer. We had taken ours to go and tried to eat it directly from the fridge. It was super hard and took about half an hour to warm up and get soft. This was good and I would try it again.
