2024 Holiday Foods
The holidays are upon us and there are tons of foods out there to try. For health reasons I made sure to share since most holiday foods are far from healthy. This is a selection of some of the holiday foods you can try this year.
Peppermint Creme Sandwich Cookies
These were a Target find. They were very chocolate forward in taste and the peppermint flavor could have been dialed up more. They were ok, but I wouldn't buy them again because the peppermint flavor just wasn't really there and a different brand may be better at bringing the flavor.
I had tried this in the past and back then I made the mistake of eating a whole one by myself and made myself sick. It is super rich. It does taste good, but most of the peppermint flavor was on the top. They should have added some into the chocolate pudding part. It's good for splitting, but not as good at bringing the holiday spirit.
A disappointment. It was cute, but the flavor was so boring. It was supposed to be vanilla flavored, but was bland. If they wanted it to be vanilla then they should have maybe used real vanilla which you would have been able to see in it or upped the extract. I wouldn't get this again. The quality is also nowhere near the price. This product would be a disappointment even at a grade school bake sale.
Nordstrom eBar Peppermint Chocolate Cupcake
This was such a great bit. It was a small cup cake, but the balance of chocolate and peppermint was amazing. This was one of the best holiday baked goods I found this year. eBar has been turning out some really good items over the past couple of years and this is one of them. I would totally get this again and probably could eat a few in one sitting (but I won't since that would be unhealthy).
Krispy Kreme has just not been doing very well lately with coming out with new products. Over all this donut was boring in it's flavor. It hardly had any filling in it and what filling was in there was really bland. The look was cute, but they should have been creative with the filling. A lime filling would have not only matched the color of the character, but the personality as well.
This was a relative win. I say this because it had great potential, but the problem is that the filling to dough ratio was off with it needing more filling with a focus on the plum part. I do hope that they bring this back with a few tweaks.
MOD Pizza Chocolate Peppermint No Name Cake
The No Name Cake is normally actually a Ding Dong. Got to love copy right issues. This peppermint twist was a great idea and came out great. There was no question on the peppermint flavor and the level was perfect. MOD Pizza in general may be getting disappointing in the quality of their normal food, but this dessert is worth the stop.
Chocolate Cake Pops
I grabbed these as a quick snack. They were ok for a very basic chocolate cake pop. I wish that target would have been more creative with their flavors for the cake pops this year. You had your choice between vanilla and chocolate. They could have gotten fun with peppermint chocolate or gingerbread, but missed the chance to celebrate more complex flavors of the season.Favorite Day Peppermint Marshmallows
We thought that this would be a great addition to peppermint hot chocolate. Marshmallows are normally good in hot chocolate, but sometimes the flavor can overpower a flavored hot chocolate or clash with it. There was no peppermint flavor in these. There was a taste of something that made them seem off when compared to plain ones, but the flavor was nothing like peppermint. Just the fun Part Peppermint Dark Chocolate Waffle Cones
Even though the flavor on these was mellow when it came to the peppermint, they were still good and it was hard to not keep popping them. I found these at Five Below. I would totally get these again.
