Cotton candy comes in so many different flavors. Here is a look at some of the different flavors I have been able to find and where I got them.
Holiday & Random Flavors
Fun Sweets Smores Cotton Candy
This was a little weird. I did not get the chocolate or marshmallow taste at all. It just tasted like a cracker, not a graham cracker, but kind of like a Ritz cracker. Not what I was expecting and just not that good. A Walmart find that was $5 for five tubs, so $1 each.
Fairy Tale Buttered Popcorn Cotton Candy
This one totally messed with my brain because the flavor truly was buttered popcorn. Most of the time when you find foods that are supposed to be buttered popcorn flavored, like jelly beans, they just taste like fake butter. Some how they were able to pull in the corn flavor. It was movie theater popcorn with the cotton candy texture. I'd recommend this one and I found it at Five Below.
Fun Sweets Cranberry Cotton Candy
This is one of those weirder products that you can find out there. This was actually part of a 5 pack that I found at Walmart that was in their Halloween candy section even though the flavors were a mixture of Halloween and fall. The set of five was $5 so $1 a piece. For actual taste, I would say it had a generic berry like flavor but if you gave it to me as a blind taste test I would not be able to tell you the exact flavor. If I was looking for fun flavored cotton candies I would eat it again, but I would not expect a cranberry flavor.
Pumpkin Pie Cotton Candy (Fun Sweets)
This was part of a Halloween set of cotton candies. I was not familiar with the brand, but you got 5 mini tubs for $5 or about $1 each before tax. If you would have put this in an unmarked bowl and told me to guess the flavor I would have said standard cotton candy. As you could have told me it was strawberry or any other flavor and I would have believed you. They could have dialed up the flavor so much on this. Yes it was good and sweet, but pumpkin pie it was not. I found this at Walmart.
Candy Corn Cotton Candy (Fun Sweets)
Candy corn is one of those flavors that you either like or hate. It is supposed to be a complex flavor made up of fondant, marshmallow and vanilla. To me this was very one note and just tasted like vanilla. Boring. A Walmart find that was $5 for five tubs, so $1 each.
Chocolate Storybook Peppermint Mocha Cotton Candy
On this one I got the peppermint flavor, but the chocolate was lost. There was some other weird flavor with the peppermint that I couldn't put my finger on, but it was not chocolate or coffee. It was just weird. The tub was a good size for the $5(ish) I paid. Would I get it again... not sure, but the place I found it at, Taste in the Flatirons Mall, had several other flavors that stood out more mostly just because they were so random.
Fun Sweets Vanilla Snow Cotton Candy
This was one of the few Fun Sweets cotton candies where what flavor they say the product is the actual flavor you get. It had a very light vanilla flavor. Not bad if you like vanilla, standable if you don't. I'm not a fan of vanilla in general, but I would eat it if someone offered me some.
Pickle Cotton CandyMy brain was slightly confused by this product. They did get a slight vinegar taste in there even though it is much more dill forward. I didn't get any weird aftertaste like I thought I would. You can find this product at Five Below near their seasonal items. This is one of those products that you try to say you've tried it, but I don't think I would actively buy it again. Tried Spring 2025.
Holiday Cotton Candy Strawberry
For the most part it was just your standard strawberry flavoring. The weird thing though was the texture. I'm used to cotton candy being airy and fluffy, this was more dense like super backed in fiberglass you would find in your attic. It also wasn't long strands, but was more like it had been cut before being packaged. I found this 3 pack at the Dollar Tree for $1.25. I would buy these again to give to people. They would be good in little goodie bags.
Holiday Cotton Candy Green Apple
They took this flavor into the sour. One you got used to the sour it was actually really good and enjoyable. Like the strawberry in the pack it was very dense.
Holiday Cotton Candy Blue Raspberry
Of the 3 flavors in the holiday pack this was my favorite. Same denseness as the above two in the pack. The flavor was just great. If I bought these again I would keep the blue raspberry and give out the other flavors.
Saw But Did Not Try
Many of my articles are works made over time because eating all of these foods in a limited time would be super bad for me. This cotton candy article is a good example. The below items I found after the time I had to cut most of the sugar out of my diet, so I didn't get to try them but I thought they were interesting.
Dr Pepper Cotton Candy
I found this at a truck stop/gas station while on a mini road trip in May 2023. Dr Pepper is a complex flavor made up of several other flavors. I really wanted to try it, but managed to be good and just take its picture.
Five Below Finds
Spicy cotton candy, not sure how I feel about that but the one with the marshmallows sounded interesting. Saw May 2023.
Saw May 2023. Seemed just like putting three different flavors together, but I haven't seen lemon flavor that often.
Cracker Barrel Finds
Not only did they have the Dr. Pepper flavor, but they also had A&W Root Beer. I'm not a root beer fan so I didn't want to try it, but if you are a fan this could be interesting. Found spring 2025.
