Stone Pasta Recipe

Sometimes you need to make food with random items. The most popular known one is stone soup. In this case this is a pasta version of the concept.

Ingredients:
16 oz elbow pasta
2 cans pasta sauce
2 small zucchini (about 6 in long 1 in diameter)
1 medium onion
10 oz hamburger
Session to taste

First you start the pasta to boil. While the pasta is cooking dice up the onion and zucchini. I left the zucchini in slightly larger pieces since they will shrink a little during cooking.
Then you start to fry the hamburger in a pan. I seasoned my meat with pepper and garlic powder.
When the meat is about halfway cooked I add in the onion and zucchini.
While the onion and zucchini are cooking you may need to keep adding a little water to the pan so that you don't get the burned stuff on the bottom. I normally keep a little cup of water beside the stove so I can just add a splash where ever I need to.

Once the meat is fully cooked and the zucchini is still slightly firm, mix it into the drained pasta. Then add the 2 cans of pasta sauce.
I then added more pepper and powdered garlic to the pot and mixed it in.

What is pasta without a little garlic bread. I'm not big on bread and normally don't have any in the house, but today I happened to have a random loaf.
Ciabatta bread can be used for a lot of random things. For this basic recipe you could use any type of bread, even your generic soft white sliced bread.

You super lightly butter one side. For this side I actually lightly sprayed the bottom side with butter spray. Then the other side you smoother in butter. I then put garlic powder, oregano, and parmesan cheese. Cook it at 400 degrees F, until lightly brown (I'm not a fan of hard bread so you may want to cook yours longer if you like crunchy bread).

The meal serves about six, or you have dinner for nearly a week.

*I normally do not cook with any added salt due to medical issues in my family. You can add salt if you like. I recommend just using other spices since the American diet includes so much salt without you adding any.
