Pickle (Dill) Flavored Foods and Drinks
Right now there seems to be a pickle trend happening. I actually started this article a while ago, but this spring, spring 2025, there was an explosion of pickle products both in stores and at restaurants. The diversity of products range from candy to chips to sauces for sandwiches. If you are one of those people that love drinking pickle juice directly from the jar, then this article is for you.
Claussen Pickle Flavor Jelly Beans
This was a Five Below find. Not as bad as I was expecting. I actually found myself popping them. They were very dill focused and I think if you like just dill then you would like these. I would buy these again if I saw them. They were also not overly sweet tasting as well.
My brain was slightly confused by this product. They did get a slight vinegar taste in there even though it is much more dill forward. I didn't get any weird aftertaste like I thought I would. You can find this product at Five Below near their seasonal items. This is one of those products that you try to say you've tried it, but I don't think I would actively buy it again.
For a 7 Eleven find these were super good. All of the flavors were clearly there. The heat was just about perfect and not overpowering. I would totally buy these again.
For this product both the dill and vinegar flavor came through. I thought that it was a nice balance and you can easily keep popping these balls. I had found these at CostCo which was a little surprising for me since I don't normally find unusual products there. I did also see smaller bags of these at Five Below.
Dill Pickle Pasta Salad
This was a Walmart find. There was no pickle flavor and they really needed to dial up the even just the dill flavor which was the only thing pickle like in this and it was super weak. I wouldn't buy this again.
Trader Joes Perfectly Pickled Pups
These were actually really good. If you are going to make a meal of them you only get enough for one person in the box. The breading had a slight dill taste and it left a very slight pickle juices after taste. I would so get these again.W.T. Heck Dill Pickle Soda
This was one of the crazy sodas I found at Rocket Fizz. It was more of just dill flavored then anything else. I was expecting some of the bite like you were drinking pickle juice, but it was missing that. This is one of the sodas you try once just to say you've tried it. Tried April 2023.Popeyes Pickle Glaze Boneless Wings
This is a spicy dill sauce. Not very pickle like except for the dill. At the same time it is a really good sauce that will open your sinuses without over burning you. It is oily though and can cause issues if you don't have a gallblader, but I would say it is worth it. I would recommend to go with the boneless wings, but would be good either way. I would also recommend dipping their Cajun fries in the sauce in the bottom to mop it up.
Same glaze from the wings that is spicy dill. They also put on actual pickles as well which went very good with the sauce. I would say that they could only make the sandwich better if they put lettuce and tomato on it. It was super messy to eat and the sauce was not evenly spread on the chicken. The chick should have been tossed in the sauce instead of them just drizzling it on.
This one really did feel like they had dumped pickle juice in the lemonade. Had the dill, pickle, and vinegar flavor. It was very refreshing and I wish they would keep this on their menu or at least bring it back each spring.
Dirty Dill Vodka
"Russian Pickle Water?", LOL. It did taste like they mixed pickle juice with vodka. It was OK, but had a super bad aftertaste. I just sipped on the bottle and it might be better if you use it as a mixer. At the same time I have tried pickle shots at bars, like Whispers, where they make their own and have never ran into one that had this bad of an aftertaste.
The normal Flamin' Hot is one of my favorite crunchy snacks, and this puts a weird spin on it. Was it good?... not sure. I did finish the bag, but it took me awhile. I don't think that I would buy them very often, but I would be willing to get it to mess with people who are easily grossed out by odd flavor combos.
Kettle Brand Dill Pickle Krinkle Cut Chips
For krinkle cut (wavy) chips these were super hard. They also didn't take up the dill flavor and was just mostly vinegar. I wouldn't ever try these again, and this is one you could just skip.Top Picture From: https://unsplash.com/photos/bowl-strainer-and-pickles-aZzYKVLVki8
