Fort Collins Comic Con 2025 in Food

Since the con started at 9am and we had to get all the way to Fort Collins it was a super early start to our day. We didn't take time to eat breakfast at home, but decided we would get food on our way.

We stopped at Buc-ee's to grab food and have a stretch break.
The first thing I went for was some of their beef jerky. I had been wanting to try some for awhile and thought that today would be that day. Of all of the flavors they had this one stood out the most to me. It was interesting...sweet..., but I did not get either specially the maple or cherry flavor. If you tell me something has a specific flavor, I had better be able to taste it. Whatever they added to the meat did make it sweet, but the flavor was just meat. For my first bag of their jerky I was disappointed. It was ok, but I don't think that I would buy it again.

Next on the menu was a Bacon Egg Cheese Croissant. It was ok, but not worth the price. It needed more filling. It was also super dry. They should have gravy or something in it.

I only had a few of the puffs, they were actually a part of my mothers snack grab. I would say they were about average for a puff (think store brand quality). I also had a pack of 2 hard boiled eggs there for additional protein to help me fill full (not pictured).

For lunch we had Tokyo Joe's. This was super close to the Fort Collins Senior Center where the con was taking place, and by close I mean in the shopping center across the little side street. This is a dark meat make your own bowl with peanut sauce. I also tried their strawberry watermelon drink and it was super watered down which caused it to have a very weak flavor. It was about average for a Tokyo Joe's. Over the years I've noticed the quality going down with this chain as the prices climb. Of the places to eat this was one of the closest for my mom to walk to and that was really the only reason why we ate there. Would I eat there again, maybe but only because it is close to the con.

I also had a small lemon lime Gatorade that I got at the snack bar in the upstairs dealers' room. It was so hot in there that I really needed the boost. There were water stations, but no cups. Later in the day they did start handing out bottle of water instead.

As a side note on the way home I talked my mother into stopping at the HTeaO, the only one in Colorado, to get our return home drink. I had wanted to try this place when I was in Texas in the early part of the year, but forgot to. When I heard that one was opening up in Loveland I was excited.
I went through and tried all of the flavors both with and without sugar. My favorite and the one that I got a large one of was the Sweet Blueberry Green Tea. It was amazing good and a great value for the quality. There was no question on what the flavor was and the blueberry really shined. I would totally get it again and I wish that that would open more locations in the Denver metro area.

I also had some snacks with me, but I was so busy that I didn't eat any of them so I'm not including them here. We only attended on Saturday, so this con food article is short.
