Rose Flavored Drinks

In honor of summer I'm doing this post since rose drinks always seem to pop up. This will be a post I keep running and as I find new ones I'll add to it. Some people say that floral flavors can get "soapy" if too much is used, but I really enjoy them and so far have not been able to get to the "soapy" amount even with me dumping in the flavor.

Drinks You Can Pick Up At The Store

Monin Rose

So I'm starting my rose trip here with Monin because it allows you to turn any drink into a rose flavored drink. I normally get this from the coffee shop in Colorado Mills mall. They may be small, but they carry a good variety of syrups that you can by. Other places may carry Monin, but most of the time they do not have the floral flavors. with this you can experiment with anything and everything. I've even used this syrup to make rose buttercream frosting.

Belvoir Farm Elderflower & Rose Lemonade

This drink came in a large 25oz bottle. For this one the elderflower blended with the rose to create a flavor that was neither of them. At the same time I feel like the elderflower overpowered the rose, but could not hold its own at the same time. I did actually like it because it still had an overall floral taste that was light and it tasted good on a hot summer day. I found this drink at the World Market in the Southlands Mall area. 225 calories per bottle an it was also high in sugars and carbs. On the bottle it also recommended that you could mix it with white wine, vodka, or gin.

Fentimans Rose Lemonade

This drink I found at World Market. When I first tried it there was a weird taste. Yes, I did get the rose flavor, but there was something else in there that made it taste .....off.... Then I looked at the back of the bottle and it all made sense. They had added fermented ginger root extract. This gave the drink a weird bit that I can only compare to what you get when you drink tonic water. There was lemon juice in this drink, but I would not call it a lemonade, I feel that calling it that is really miss leading because of all of the extra things they added to this drink like pear juice. I would not say this drink was good, but you may like it if you like tonic water. I could see this being mixed with gin. The small bottle I got was only 9.3 oz, but had 110 calories. That makes this drink very high calorie per the volume you get even though the sugar they put in it does not help with the taste. I wouldn't by this one again.

Jen Collagen Aloe Vera Infused Water Cherry & Rose

This drink was a lot thinner then other aloe drinks. For this one the you couldn't taste the rose at all due to how overpowering the cherry flavor was. It also was not a good cherry flavor. It was that gross medicine flavor that really isn't cherry no matter what they call it. I found this drink at Hmart in Aurora.

Bea's Squeeze Pink Rose Lemonade

Of the rose flavored drinks I have tried this is the only "gross" one I have ran into. It had no rose flavor what so ever and it just tasted like they bought one of those plastic lemons from the produce section and squirted it directly into the bottle. The lemon flavor was just painful. Do not buy this product.

Numi White Rose Tea
This tea I got to try at an education conference. It had a nice mellow flavor and I would try it again. Tried October 2023.

Drinks At Restaurants

Rose Italian Sodas

This is one of the most common ways you can get a rose flavored drink. They have become common in the smaller mom and pop type coffee shops where they specialize in the different flavored syrups. The first one I ever tried was at the Tattered Cover Book Store that used to be in Cherry Creek North. I was still in grade school and as I filled my love of learning looking through the bookshelves I would be sipping on either a rose or lavender Italian soda. You can choose to add cream or not, but I prefer them without.
